Shaped or reshaped?

In Romans 12:2, the Apostle Paul writes, “Don’t be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you all may discern what the will of God is, what is good and acceptable and perfect.” The choice is clear enough. The church has only two options: be shaped by the world or reshaped into what God wants us to be. Which direction are our actions taking us today?

Milton,
I was just doing something for church on the transfiguration today and read that the word in Romans 12:2 is the word transfigured. I haven't looked it up myself, but I trust the source!

If it is true, that we're not transformed (changed from one substance to another) but rather transfigured (allowing the inherent glory to shine through) that is really cool! The idea being that we have been made and have been given all that is acceptable unto God, all we need to do is let it shine through us. Very cool.

Literally the word is "metamorphasized," which can mean transformed or transfigured.

Thanks for adding to the discussion. Peace.
